Located west of Algona, this pony truss bridge crosses the E. Fork Des Moines River.
Built in 1898, the bridge originally featured a 6-panel pin connected Pratt Pony Truss, approached by trestle on either side. The truss sits on concrete piers.
Trusses like this were common along the Milwaukee Road. As a standardized design, it is confirmed that the bridge was built by Lassig Bridge & Iron Works.
Currently, the bridge is used by Canadian Pacific (DM&E). The approaches were updated in 2013 with moder concrete modular spans.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition. New floor beams were added to the bridge in approximately 2013 as well.

The author has ranked this bridge as being moderately significant, due to the truss design.
